Spring is in the air

Today in upstate New York it is finally above 40 degrees. Snow is melting off the roof and sun is shining through the windows. It has been one long winter and it’s not over yet. However, my plants tell me that spring is not that far off. My great grandmother’s easter cactus is blooming (for the first time after a 4 year hiatus) and my miniature rose-bush has buds!  I think spring is in the air.

  1. Spring in the air? Oh, you really are setting yourself up for heartbreak. Our pussy willows are not being fooled, not yet. At least a little melting will open up some space to shovel the next round. Argh!
