When I first started collecting antiques, a small little sugar bowl caught my eye. I loved the apples design and that it was made in England. I decided to use it as a design theme for my first apartment in the kitchen. I bought all kinds of fruit and apple items. Funny is I never once turned the sugar bowl over to see its makers mark and look into the history.
The bowl was made by Royal Winton Grimwades in England. By looking at the mark, one can get a better idea of the age of the piece. This mark places the sugar bowl as from the period of the 1930-1940’s. Check out this website for more on the Royal Winton marks by period.
